I need this so badly, PM spam flying. Hurry and get this done. The ability for users to report private message.

Sounds like you paid for your MyBBoard software and want the developers "to hurry to get done" what you paid for. *shaking head*
[EDIT]What I wanted to say: It does not sound very polite to say "Hurry, get this done". We are talking about a free software written by very ambitious people. :)[/EDIT]

'Hurry and get this done' isn't the sort of tone that will get it made any quicker. It would be in 1.6 at the very earliest, if at all, so it isn't a case of hurrying it.
@Masa not sure where there's any paying involved either, unless it's a metaphor.

Masa, we may not invest money in MyBB, but we invest our time and support! :)

Just add the report post facility to the private message...not rocket science.
@ you've been saying you'll do this for ages -
MattRogowski, 25th April 2009, 11:05:59 PM
If it isn't rocket science, make it as a plugin, you seem to know it all and think it's so easy ;) As I said, if it was going to be included, it wouldn't be until 1.6 so having this sort of attitude is pointless.

Seems like a good idea.
Maybe for now you could try squeezing a "Report Post" link from the "Post Bit" templates, and into the "Private Messenging" templates.
I'm not sure this would work, but i think it might since i've noticed that the PMs use some of the Post Bit templates.

I've got no attitude, this has been requested by 100s members on countless occasions. Do you not understand how much spam gets flown around on big forums.

I help run a huge forum (3,000,000 posts, 20,000 members) and there is next to none spam in a PM. If there is a problem you forward the PM onto a moderator/admin. Not rocket science.
Even if you can point me to all 100 members who have requested this, which you couldn't, that isn't going to make it magically happen faster.

I run a webmaster forum, therefore they all want to promote their sites, PM spam promoting their sites.

Then install the Private Message Admin problem - That should be what your looking for.

That's mean reading through everyones PM's. Shouldn't have to and is not ethical.

I personally think this would be useful for eg;
Flame Wars/Bullying/Harassment (sometimes people accuse others that they photoshop the evidence)
PMs leaking forum information/resources or begging for them. etc.I think this should be integrated. Some forums will need it, some won't. It depends on what it is. :)

This would be a great feature. I once ran a forum where members were using PMs to get other members to riot. A report PM feature would have been useful at that time, so a big +1 for this suggestion from me.

Yup.

This is a really good idea. Members often forward PMs but edit them first. This lead once to a guy being banned for something he didn't do.
I don't like reading PMs in the ACP. It isn't ethical.

Attitude of the OP aside, I agree with this idea. For now, implementing this as a plugin is okay, but this seems like a fundamental moderation tool that makes more sense as a part of the MyBB core. Especially since I'm seeing spam PMs on the official MyBB Community Forums.
