i ve seen many forums till date, but none allow posting via email. although i can receive emails upon someone else's new posting, i am unable to create a new post via email. this perhaps will be the key thing in getting many more passive people to use forums effectively.

  2. I think if we allowed certain groups to do so it wouldn't be bad.

Personally I've voted for this because it's a good option, maybe best suited as a plugin though because I doubt many would want it. I've seen it on ipb forums and it's not always a good thing :)

  3. It makes it easier for people to spam, so I don't like this idea.

  4. won't work for all those folks that don't have direct server access or can not create email forwarders that pipe to scripts. its not a hard thing to do if you have the ability to pipe emails, I've set it up on another site before.

  5. It's too easy to forge email headers, so you couldn't verify the sender's identity. Another problem is identifying the forum (if a new thread) or thread (if a reply).
