MyBB Packages - One with and one without Portal

A lot of people find the Portal on MyBB useless, yet some find it useful. I think it would be cool for MyBB to have two seperate packages, one with the Portal and one without the Portal.

  1. There is a plugin to disable it. As for total deletion - who cares - its a very small amount of space. I think the MyBB team needs to maintain only one option 1 for the newbies, and two to streamline development. There is no reason to maintain 2 releases over one feature - IMO.

  2. Why? If you don't like it, delete the file. If I recall correctly, that's no links in MyBB itself that link to it - unless a user adds it to their theme

  3. too much work to maintain two releases, its not used by default so just delete the file if you must

  4. Just delete the portal file if you don't like it.

  5. If you remove portal.php you should also remove the portal settings from ACP. Otherwise if you try to turn them on, you might stuck on dead because portal file will be not found.
    I would rather just leave it as is and ignore the feature.
