Make a better Portal

Make a better portal that can be set up as the homepage within clicks. Make it so that the sidebars/block can be edited and the content editable, also let users add their own content anywhere in the page.

I like the idea :) I think being able to do quick edit 'on the fly' on the actual portal page by clicking on small unobtrusive 'Edit Links' such as this ^ (which opens a pop-up window to edit) would be handy. The portal/homepage is very important, the presentation should be outstanding with excellent content because it's the first page visitors and thus attract new members, if the content looks awesome, a very nice layout, good clear navigation and of course the convenient register/login box then visitors are more likely to join :)

  9. Totally were promptly is what we need, our own portal and modules can be added, new things, widgets.

    That is customizable, and we do not have to make paper MODS Portal, which is a portal MyBB original, unique and of them.

    Since it is the best way to be the best set of forums, either gratis or payments.

    Having our own portal to the extreme.

Spanish: Pueden mejorarlo si quieren, pero seria mucho mejor que dedicaran todo su tiempo en mejorar el FORO como tal, que con la competencia que hay actualmente (xenforo, IPB, SMF 2.0, phpBB 4 próximamente y vbulletin 4.1 próximamente) urge mejorar en todo aspecto este maravilloso y LIBRE script de FORO, no de portal.

    También podrían agregar la opcion de desactivar el portal desde las configuraciones, pues las personas que no lo usamos nos vemos en la necesidad de instalar un plugin para esto.

    I need an Advanced Portal. I am using Joomla for my portal. But users cannot see their UserCP in my portal, They should sign into community and then can see their UserCP.

    But if MyBB has an Advanced Portal, everything will be changed.

Agree, or even in the slightest gives us the option to add custom blocks (and yes i know i can put it below one of the pre-done but still thats not in my opinion how a good portal should function). I would love to see a lot more features being taken from the SMF simple portal plugin. Since that one works great.
