On my site, I restrict all avatars to 100x100 pixels to keep the site uniform looking. The drawback is you cannot see the avatar of users in detail (some are funny, and worth looking closer). So the idea. Ability for people to upload any size image..and it defaults to the dimensions (in thread) that you designate in the plugin settings...BUT...if you hover over it (or click it) it will show you a larger size version of the image.

    So, no. (Only if this would be switched off by default.)
