Disabling the statistics page

There should be a way to block/disable the statistics page. Even when you turn off the statistics on the Forum Home every user and guest can manually type in "[forumhome]/stats.php" and get the name of the newest member and the top poster etc. Even when it's only a small piece of information you should be able to turn it off.
(Maybe when turning off the stats on the Forum Home the stats page could also be turned off as minimalistic solution.)
